XG’s Jurin Asaya teaming up with Rapsody for debut solo single ‘PS118’

XG‘s Jurin Asaya has been confirmed to release solo material this month – find out more below.

This week, XGALX took to social media to announce ‘PS118’, Jurin Asaya’s debut solo single featuring rapper Rapsody. The track is due to release on Tuesday, November 18.

The single will make Jurin the first member of XG to release solo material – it is currently unclear if the rest of the group are planning solo music for release in the near future.

Jurin commented of the upcoming track via a press release: “I’m so excited to release my solo single ‘PS118.’ For me, ‘PS118’ is a song about exploring and expanding my own universe. Throughout this project, Rapsody and I deeply connected with each other’s journeys, exploring and traveling through our own universes. The whole process felt like we were flying through space together—it was pure fun! I hope you can feel our journey through the words and rhythm.”

Rapsody added: “I was blown away by her lyrical skill and performance! Especially since English isn’t her first language—she killed it! The verses were flawless and deserve respect! Jurin proved herself to be a true MC on this track, and it was a joy to share the mic with her! Fans can expect real rap, wordplay, and sharp rhymes. No fluff, just pure Jedi force.”

In other news, XG have revealed the title and release date for their highly anticipated debut album – it is due for release in January 2026, and is titled ‘The Core’. So far, the album has been previewed by one single, ‘GALA’, which arrived in September

Speaking to NME for The Cover in January, XG reflected on the long road to discovering their own identity in the competitive idol music scene, while aiming to bring their cultural roots to the rest of the world. “We have a lot of pride in our Japanese heritage and culture,” said group leader Jurin, “so we’re trying to figure out how to integrate that and incorporate it into the larger XG brand.”

The girl group also touched on their Coachella debut in April, where they carried the torch for their home country as the only Japanese act on the line-up this year. “We were like deer in headlights,” Jurin said of the moment they found out about the booking. “But then we saw Coachella’s official lineup image with ‘XG’ on it, and that’s when it really hit us. We couldn’t stop sharing it with each other, saying, ‘Oh my God, look, guys, we’re on the list.’”

XG first debuted in 2022 with the single ‘Tippy Toes’. The group’s first mini-album ‘New DNA’ in September 2023, followed by their sophomore mini-album ‘AWE’ in November 2024. They’ve released several singles this year, including ‘Is This Love’, ‘In The Rain’ and ‘Million Places’.
