At the time of writing, there has been no official word from Apple TV+ as to whether Platonic has been renewed for a third season.

The streaming service’s decision will likely be steered by audience reaction and viewership ratings, and given the seemingly positive reception to the new season, the chances appear to be good.

The original plan for Platonic was for each season to have a distinct cast and set of storylines, but after the success of season one and the chemistry between Byrne and Rogen, they decided to return to the same characters again.

Rogen has indicated that he would like to return for a third season, telling Decider: “I would love to keep doing Platonic. I think there are really great storylines for the season. And it’s something I would love to keep doing as long as people enjoy watching it.”
