The Boys spin-off Gen V carries extra emotional weight in the show’s second season.
Created by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg and Eric Kripke, the satirical superhero series follows a group of young adult “supes” enlisted at the Godolkin University School Of Crimefighting, who are all competing for a chance to join The Seven.

The show’s second was largely rewritten following the death of actor Chance Perdomo, who died in a motorcycle accident prior to filming.
Alongside Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas and Hamish Linklater.
All eight episodes of season two are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Is Gen V season 3 happening?

At the time of writing, Amazon has not confirmed whether Gen V will return for a third season.

We already know the show’s second season directly leads into the final season of The Boys, which is set to premiere next year, so any decision will likely depend on whether they want to continue the franchise.
What have the show’s creators said about a potential third season?
One of the show’s creators, Eric Kripke, has said there’s a plan in place for a third season of Gen V, but it all depends on whether there’s enough demand from viewers.
“We have a plan for Gen V season three, and we’re psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch season two to justify season three,” Kripke told TheWrap. “Now’s the time that they’re paying attention to the numbers. So don’t watch even a year from now. Turn on Prime and watch it now.
“If enough people watch then we’ll get a season three. Same applies to Vought Rising season one. We have plans for a season two, if we can. They’ve been nothing but supportive, and they’re giving us our opportunities. But it’s a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up.”

In an interview with Variety, Gen V showrunner Michele Fazekas similarly said a third season is certainly a possibility.
“I think there is any number of ways you could do a third season,” Fazekas said. “Our task here was launching into The Boys, which doesn’t really mean that there wouldn’t be another season of Gen V. That’s what’s great about a college show – everyone’s always going to college! But our task was launch us into the new season of The Boys.”
