This month, may the force be with Disney+, which is celebrating spring with a bounty of original films and TV series.
On May 27, the highly anticipated “Obi-Wan Kenobi” limited series will premiere its first two episodes. The Lucasfilm production finds Ewan McGregor reprising his role as the title character for the first time since 2005, while Hayden Christensen is back as Anakin Skywalker. The show will debut new episodes throughout the month. Another original television series, “The Quest,” will drop all eight episodes on May 11. The reality series, based on the short-lived ABC show of the same name, features eight teenagers competing in an immersive, live-action roleplaying game.
Also in May, Disney+ will launch three original films. May 13 will see the premiere of “Sneakerella,” a teenage “Cinderella” retelling starring Chosen Jacobs and Lexi Underwood. “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” a live action/animated hybrid film starring the classic Disney characters, will premiere on May 20. A week later, the streamer will debut “We Feed People,” a documentary directed by Ron Howard about José Andrés and his nonprofit World Central Kitchen.
Plus, old content will hit the streamer throughout the month, including Season 2 of Disney Junior show “Mira, Royal Detective” on May 11, new episodes of Disney Channel sitcom “Raven’s Home” on May 25, and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s buddy-cop comedy “Bad Boys” on May 27.
