Watch the moment the Red Arrows flew over Cast’s opening set for Oasis in Edinburgh

Cast’s set opening for Oasis in Edinburgh was marked by a flyover from the Red Arrows on Saturday (August 9) – watch below.

The Liverpool band have been opening at every date on the UK and Ireland leg of the massive Oasis Live ‘25 tour this summer, along with Richard Ashcroft. As the second of three nights at the Scottish capital went down at Murrayfield Stadium, the RAF’s Air Force Acrobatic Team made a dramatic appearance.

Cast were playing their 1996 single ‘Flying’, at which point nine Red Arrows flew in formation overhead at Murrayfield, blazing their signature red, white and blue contrails.

“You’ve got to fly,” the band wrote on Instagram as they shared video of the moment. Watch here:

After their final Edinburgh show on Tuesday (August 12), Oasis will then head for a pair of performances in Dublin’s Croke Park on August 16 and 17, before heading across the Atlantic for the North American tour. Dates in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Pasadena and Mexico City will take them to the middle of September, when they head back for two final nights at Wembley.

Later in the year, they play in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

NME gave Oasis’ first concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits,” it added.

Cast’s John Power has said Liam and Noel Gallagher “seem to be in an absolutely wonderful place” on the tour so far. “They both genuinely … well, of course they want to be there, but you can feel the positive energy,” he said. “It’s all going hunky-dory.”

Last month, Cast announced their new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ and shared the lead single ‘Poison Vine’, which features their signature chiming guitar sound and guest vocals from veteran soul singer P.P. Arnold.

Last year, Power told NME that they felt nothing but a “very positive vibe” about supporting Oasis.

“We’re blown away by it,” Power said about their reaction to the news that they would be on the tour. “We had the nod and were just waiting for the official announcement. Now we can bask in it. It’s a stamp of approval from our peers, and I appreciate that massively.”

“It kind of reaffirms our legacy and authenticates the road and journey that we’ve been on as a band. And now us, Richard Ashcroft and Oasis – talk about Northern Soul! That’s some line-up.”
