Watch Taylor Swift poke fun at “male sports fans” on ‘New Heights’ podcast clip

A new clip of Taylor Swift’s appearance on the New Heights podcast has been shared, showing the pop star poking fun at “male sports fans”. Check it out below.

The podcast is presented by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who has been dating Swift since the summer of 2023, and his brother Jason Kelce, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was announced this week that the pop megastar would be making an appearance on the hit podcast for the first time later today (August 13). In a previous clip of the forthcoming episode, Swift announced her new album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.

The podcast is likely to see her speak about the record for the first time.

Now, just hours before the episode drops, Travis and Jason have shared a snippet of the interview with Swift, in which she makes a tongue-in-cheek remark about the main demographic watching New Heights.

After a brazen introduction from Jason, who lists out all of the singer’s biggest achievements and milestones from the past two years, Swift thanks the hosts for having her on the show and jokes that the sports fans who usually listen to the podcast will be glad to see her.

“As we know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. I think we all know that, if there is one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it’s more of me,” she said sarcastically, smiling at the camera.

The remark about the sports fans not being happy to see her comes as Swift’s relationship with Kelce has led to her making many appearances in the NFL world over the past two years.

Swift has attended the last two Super Bowls to support Kelce, helping the 2024 game become the most-watched broadcast in US TV history since the 1969 moon landing. This year, her reaction to being booed by Eagles fans at the event went viral.

Back in 2023, the National Football League said that it was “very happy” with Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship, as it helped bring even more fans and momentum to the world of American football.

Shortly afterwards, it defended its extensive coverage of the singer coming out to watch Kelce play, despite backlash from some football fans who suggested that it was “overdoing it a little bit”.

In February 2024, after they confirmed that they were dating after months of speculation, Jason Kelce defended the pop star after some people complained about how much she was being shown during NFL game broadcasts. “If people didn’t want to see it, they wouldn’t be showing it. I know that,” he said, also calling her a “role model”.

The momentum between Swift and the NFL has progressed into 2025 as well, and earlier this summer, the singer surprised players at a Nashville training camp with an impromptu performance of ‘Shake It Off’.

Travis Kelce shared praise for the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer recently too, discussing their relationship and sharing his admiration for her epic, three-hour stage ‘Eras Tour’ shows.

“She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I’ve seen what she goes through,” he said. “I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing.”

Kelce has joined Swift on stage once, during the ‘Tortured Poets Department’ segment of one of her Wembley Stadium shows in June 2024. At the gig, Kelce lifted her off her feet while dressed as one of her regular backing dancers. As he placed her on her seat, and shook her awake, he dusted her off and got Swift ready to perform ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’.

As for Swift’s upcoming album, the reveal comes just after the singer launched a cryptic countdown clock on her website that came to an end at 12:12am ET on Tuesday (August 12). Upon counting down, the site revealed three pre-order packages: a vinyl, a cassette and a CD with a poster. You can pre-order your copy here.

She confirmed the title in a clip from the New Heights podcast. The album’s cover art and release date have yet to be announced, though pre-orders will ship before October 13, 2025.
