Christine & The Queens has debuted a new song ‘Ah Ya’ and performed his hits for first time in six years at Because Beaubourg in Paris – check out footage below.

The French singer, also known as Rahim Redcar, performed at the two day celebration, held at the Centre Pompidou. Because Beaubourg is commemorating the last event at the famous building complex in Paris before it closes for a five-year renovation, and in honour of Because Music’s 20th anniversary.
On Saturday (October 25), Christine & The Queens performed some of his earliest hits including ‘La marcheuse’ and ‘Paradis Perdus’ to a sold out crowd – the first time he’s sang them live since 2019.
He also debuted a song called ‘Ah Ya’ featuring labelmate Thee Diane, which he promised was “coming soon” in an Instagram post. In the song, he passionately intones: “It’s coming up my body, whoa / It’s inside me”, before proclaiming: “Ah ya, ah ya, ah ya, ah ya, I want you to be free baby, I want you to be mine”.

At Because Beauborg, Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter also played a surprise B2B DJ set with Fred Again. His first DJ set in 16 years saw Bangalter spinning Daft Punk songs including ‘Contact’, ‘Rollin’ & Scratchin” and ‘Digital Love’ along with The Chemical Brothers‘ ‘Galvanise’ and Jonny Greenwood‘s score for the movie One Battle After Another.
Meanwhile, we reviewed Chris’ album ‘PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE’ in 2023, where we gave it a three-star review: “When an artist prepossessed with so much greatness takes such a fall in quality, you have to ask, with quite a lot of sincerity: is he OK? Come back, Chris, and shake us up once again.”
The following year, he released an album called ‘HOPECORE’, previewing the record with lead single ‘Deep Holes’.
Speaking of the album, Chris shared the record was made with “tears, blood, and mostly an unwavering faith in the raw, pure expression of the soul.”
“Music took here its full prophetic vastness, got wilder, and called for an absolute quest where no one else came in to tamper with intentions,” he continued. “A call of the flesh, a prayer for justice and freedom.”
Elsewhere, Redcar has accused Lorde of copying “without crediting me as an inspiration”.
