Tony Hawk has once again joined Goldfinger onstage to perform their classic Pro Skater anthem ‘Superman’ – check out footage below.
Over the weekend, Goldfinger took to the stage as part of the Californian stop of this year’s travelling Warped Tour. Towards the end of their set, vocalist John Feldmann held up a framed copy of their 1997 hit ‘Superman’. “This song fucking went gold last week. All thanks to one motherfucker, Mr Tony Hawk,” Feldmann said, introducing Hawk to the stage.
“What’s up Los Angeles, how are you? Hey, you guys like video games? You like skateboarding? Then you might know this next song,” Hawk said before performing the track which featured in the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Check out footage of the show below:
This isn’t the first time Hawk has joined Goldfinger onstage to perform ‘Superman’. The skating legend previously appeared during the band’s 2023 headline set at LA’s House Of Blues as well as that year’s When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas.
The team-up comes after Hawk received a lot of backlash for cutting a majority of the classic anthems from the remastered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 and replacing them with new or different tracks. “Not everyone agreed with that decision, but I feel like ‘let’s keep it fresh’ and also ‘here’s help discovering other music’,” he explained in an interview with the BBC. “In the beginning that’s what people expected of it – once the soundtrack was a prominent part of the game, people were like ‘ok’ what are you going to throw at us now’, almost like an underground radio show.”
Alien Ant Farm said they were “disappointed” that their track ‘Wish’ had been cut from Pro Skater 3+4 but Hawks insisted it wasn’t personal. “We’re trying to make room for new acts and new songs as well. Not everything makes the cut. I appreciate that people have a fondness for that song especially in relation to our game, so you know, just fire it up on your streaming service if you’re so inclined.”

Following remastered of the first four Pro Skater games, Tony Hawk said he had “aspirations” for 2003’s Underground to receive a similar upgrade. However, according to reports, the team behind the most recent remaster has been laid off, making an Underground re-release unlikely.
