Tom Misch opens applications for 2025 Wildflower music workshop

Tom Misch has opened applications for the 2025 edition of his Wildflower music workshop.

The latest instalment of the workshop follows on from the inaugural 2024 event, which brought together a variety of artists from across the country. It held hands-on masterclasses from Misch, as well as guest sessions from the likes of Jordan Rakei, Laura Misch, Joseph Hartwell Jones and more.

Applications are now open for its second year, as of today (Wednesday September 24), with the 2025 event scheduled to be held in London between November 3 and 6.

With the upcoming workshops, aspiring artists will be offered the chance to learn, create, and grow alongside what it calls “some of the most inspiring figures in the music industry”.

All aspiring artists are encouraged to get involved, and the event aims to “expand both their technical knowledge and creative horizons”.

It is suggested, however, that all applicants have intermediate to advanced knowledge of a DAW (such as Logic Pro or Ableton Live), and must own a laptop with their preferred DAW installed.

Wildflower was founded by artist and producer Misch and longtime friend and producer Isaac Westmore. In a new statement, the latter said: “I think that exchanging knowledge and ideas in a face-to-face context is so important.

“Music is fundamentally about connection, and facilitating that in an immersive and supportive environment is a responsibility that we all have, particularly in a world that is increasingly online. That’s really what motivates Wildflower.”

As well as announcing the first ever edition of Wildflower last year, Misch also joined Loyle Carner for his All Points East takeover in Victoria Park, London last summer. He opened for Carner alongside Jordan Rakei and poet John Agard.

Before then, the artist launched a new electronic project called Supershy and dropped two songs as an introduction to his new sound: ‘Happy Music’ and ‘Something On My Mind’.

The south Londoner released his debut album, ‘Geography’, in 2018, and followed it up with 2020’s ‘What Kinda Music’ – which he collaborated on with Yussef Dayes.

In a three-star review of ‘What Kinda Music’, NME wrote: “There’s no doubting the musicianship on display across ‘What Kinda Music’. Misch and Dayes certainly complement one another. But it’s hard not to long for a little disruption to the album’s soothing sonic cohesion. While they were clearly having fun, it was probably more fun to make than it is to hear.”
