It’s been confirmed that The Sims rival inZOI will be available to PlayStation players next year, while an Xbox launch is also being considered.
Life simulator game inZOI launched in Early Access on Steam in March of this year. It sold more than a million copies in its first week but has struggled to keep players interested. According to SteamDB, the all-time concurrent player peak was 87,333 and just over a thousand people are currently playing the game. It also has a “mixed” review score on the platform.
Developers Krafton have now confirmed they’re set to “broaden” the game’s reach by launching on PS5 in the first half of 2026. The PlayStation 5 version of inZOI will “retain all of the key systems and features that define the PC experience, reworked for console controls and performance to ensure a seamless and intuitive gameplay experience.” An Xbox version of inZOI is also being considered but hasn’t been confirmed.

InZOI’s first expansion pack Island Getaway is due to launch next week. “Swim and snorkel in Cahaya’s crystal-clear waters, where vibrant coral reefs, sea turtles, and dolphins await. Unwind at a resort with a variety of relaxing and recreational activities. But remember: life on this dazzling resort island comes with its share of hard work. Each day here consists of a constant cycle of labor and leisure,” reads the description, with many fans comparing the new update to Stardew Valley.
Earlier this month, The Sims developers confirmed they still had no plans to create a sequel to 2014’s The Sims 4 because it wouldn’t be “player-friendly” to make people start again after more than a decade. However a multiplayer spin-off known as Project Rene is currently in development. The game is described as a way for “friends to meet, connect and share while playing together in an all-new world.”
In other news, Grand Theft Auto 6 boss Strauss Zelnick is convinced that the long-awaited game won’t be delayed again, despite rumours about a change to the current May 2026 release date.
