Sydney Sweeney has said the prospect of ending her time on Euphoria leaves her “terrified”.
The third season of the high school drama is currently filming, and it’s believed that this will be the final chapter of the hit HBO show. Sweeney has appeared throughout as Cassie Howard, and revealed to Variety during their 2025 Power of Women ceremony in L.A. on Wednesday (October 29) that her last two days of shooting are this week.
“It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment,” the actor said about wrapping the season. “I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be. It’s been such a journey. It’s been my entire 20s. They’ve been my family and friends for so long. I’ve been forever grateful for all of them.”
In an interview with NME last year, the star spoke about what the character of Cassie has meant to her. “As an actor, she’s a dream to play because she goes through so much,” she said. “And she has unlocked so much for me. She’s made me more confident as an actor, but also as a person.”
Despite her closeness to the part, she confessed later in the interview that she enjoys making diverse choices. “I like to switch it up and kind of confuse people with what genre I’m doing,” she said. “I kind of like that I’m throwing people off.”
An air date for season three of Euphoria has not been announced yet, but in September an HBO executive confirmed it will be 2026.
