Streamer locks himself in padded room to beat ‘Elden Ring’

Streamer Stable Ronaldo has locked himself in a padded room and isn’t leaving until he beats Elden Ring.

Ronaldo is best known as a competitive Fortnite player and member of the FaZe clan. Announcing his newest challenge on X, he wrote: “Not ending stream till I beat Elden Ring” alongside a picture of what appears to be an all-white padded cell.

To make things even more challenging, Ronaldo will have no idea how long he’s been playing as all the clocks have been hidden in the room. On average, it takes players between 50 and 70 hours to beat Elden Ring, though a completionist run can take upwards of 100 hours.

The stream kicked off last night at 8pm BST and Ronaldo has currently been playing Elden Ring for the past 14 hours. So far, his character has died 286 times but he did defeat Rennala Queen Of The Full Moon after just 10 hours.

The entire thing is being live-streamed on Twitch but updates are also being shared via his TikTok account.

“I’m convinced this is how 80 per cent of the community already plays the game,” one fan wrote on X. “These dudes just straight up self inducing psychological torture on themselves for funsies? Are you going for a world record or do you just hate living,” said another. “This stream is never going to end,” added a third.

Last summer, fellow streamer Kai Cenat died more than 1000 times trying to defeat Elden Ring expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree. The challenge took him 99 hours to complete. A previous challenge saw him take 166 hours to complete the original Elden Ring.

Earlier this year it was confirmed a movie adaptation of Elden Ring was in the works from A24 and director/writer Alex Garland. Game Of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin will serve as an executive producer on the project after helping create some of the lore for the game. He recently said he was confident the adaptation “won’t suck” after criticising HBO’s House Of The Dragon and Game Of Thrones.

In other news, Nintendo has announced the voice actors who worked on Mario Kart World, including a new Donkey Kong, Princess Peach and more.
