Sophie Turner has joked that kissing her former Game Of Thrones co-star Kit Harrington for the new horror film The Dreadful was “vile”.

Turner starred in the hit HBO series as Sansa Stark, appearing for the show’s entire run alongside Harrington, who played her sibling Jon Snow.
During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Turner explained that she was producing and starring in the upcoming medieval horror film The Dreadful, and despite their sibling-like bond, had recommended Harington to writer-director Natasha Kermani to star opposite her as the male lead.
“So, I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back going like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really fucking weird, Soph,’” she recalled.
“And I was like, ‘What is he talking about?’ Then I was reading [the script] and it’s like: ‘Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…’ And then I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother.’”
Despite the initial awkwardness, Turner said that they pushed through because both she and Harington agreed that the script was so good, they “kind of had to do it”.

She continued, “We put it out of our minds, and then we get on set and it’s the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst.”
Set in the 15th century, The Dreadful also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Laurence O’Fuarain and Jonathan Howard. It follows Turner’s Anne and her mother-in-law, Morwen, who live on the outskirts of society, and have their lives upended when a man from their past returns. A release date has yet to be announced.
Last month, Turner took a similarly light-hearted approach when discussing Game of Thrones‘ intimate scenes while appearing on the Dish podcast, where she described the sex scenes as “crazy shit” and joked that she got “more than enough” sex education while making the show.
