Before joining Oasis on their historic ‘Live ’25’ tour, Ashcroft announced his seventh studio album ‘Lovin’ You’ earlier this year. It follows on from 2018’s ‘Natural Rebel’ and 2021’s ‘Acoustic Hymns, Vol. 1’.

The record (which you can pre-order here) is set for release on October 10, featuring songs written by the former Verve frontman, who co-produced the album alongside Chris Potter and Emre Ramazanoglu.

He has now shared the record’s title track as his newest single, which includes a recording of the iconic riff from Mason Williams’ ‘Classical Gas’. A press release notes that the legendary guitarist was delighted when he heard the new track, for which he has a co-writing credit.

‘Lovin’ You’ will be released on standard black vinyl, CD and digital formats along with a range of exclusive vinyl variants: his official store offers a neon orange vinyl, Amazon UK have a regular orange version, and select independent stores will stock a blue version.

Ahead of the support slots for Britpop legends Oasis kicking off, Ashcroft said he had told Noel Gallagher that he was “the only person” who could open for Oasis at their UK reunion shows.

He joined Cast on the bill as the mammoth shows kicked off last month, and throughout the five shows at Heaton Park in Manchester, five of their seven sold-out stops at Wembley Stadium in London, two stops at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh and two stops in Croke Park in Dublin, both have been going down a storm with fans.

Reflecting on the tour so far, Ashcroft recently shared some praise for Liam Gallagher, and commended him for the discipline he has had while on the road, revealing he’d only seen him on stage during the reunion tour.

His presence at the shows have generated newfound interest in his sound, with the ‘Lover’ artist now set to play the biggest UK headline tour of his career to date. Check out all the dates below and find any remaining tickets here.
