Paris Jackson distances herself from Michael Jackson biopic: “I spoke up, I wasn’t heard, I fucked off”

Paris Jackson is making it clear that she has “zero per cent involvement” in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic.

The forthcoming biopic, titled simply Michael, is currently scheduled to release in April next year. It is directed by Antoine Fuqua, with Michael’s real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson playing the King of Pop. Oscar nominee and Euphoria star Colman Domingo will play Michael’s father Joe Jackson.

Domingo recently spoke with PEOPLE about the film, and mentioned to the outlet that Michael’s children Paris and Prince Jackson were “very much in support” of the film, and they had “chatted briefly” about the project and she was “very helpful”.

Yesterday, Paris Jackson took to social media to publicly decry Domingo’s claims. In a string of now-expired Instagram Stories, she wrote, tagging Domingo: “Don’t be telling people I was “helpful” on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird.”

She continued: “I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.”

She later posted a separate video in which she said: “The film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom and they’re going to be very happy with that… the thing about these biopics are… it’s Hollywood. It’s fantasyland, it’s not real but it’s sold to you as real. A lot of sugarcoated… the narrative is being controlled. There is a lot of inaccuracy and a lot of full-blown lies.”

“And at the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me. I don’t really like dishonesty. I spoke up, I wasn’t heard, I fucked off. That’s it. You’re gonna like the fucking movie so just go watch it, go enjoy it, do whatever. Just leave me out of it.”

She later addressed comments from viewers who claimed she was reacting “rudely” to Domingo’s claims: “Yo, I met this man twice… both were hella brief interactions.”

In January, it was reported that the film’s production had hit a major speed bump, and was being forced to reshoot its entire third act, which is said to depict sexual abuse allegations that the singer’s estate has banned from being dramatised.

The film has already attracted some criticism, including from Dan Reed – the director of the documentary Leaving Neverland – which documented allegations of sexual abuse against Michael. He recently criticised the making of the new biopic, saying it “will glorify a man who raped children”.

Alongside Jaafar Jackson and Colman Domingo, the film will also star Miles Teller as manager John Branca. The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham will play the iconic Diana Ross. Portraying industry titan Quincy Jones – who died in November – will be Insecure‘s Kendrick Sampson.

In May, it was reported that the film could potentially be split into two parts for length, though as of the time of writing, this has not been confirmed for the April 2026 release. A trailer for the film has yet to be released.
