Starfield Is Coming To Nintendo Switch 2, Leaker Claims

With Xbox bringing more games to other platforms, word has just emerged of Bethesda’s first game heading to Switch 2. Now, a leak suggests that another Bethesda game, Starfield, is also on the way to the handheld.

Yesterday’s Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation included the announcement of a Switch 2 port of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming out sometime in 2026–and according to NateTheHate, Starfield will come out on Nintendo’s recently released console in the same year.

NateTheHate also claimed that Starfield is indeed coming to PlayStation 5, as rumors have persisted since the RPG’s 2023 release. A separate report from this month alleges that Starfield will release on PS5 in the spring of 2026.

While Bethesda has not officially confirmed plans for Starfield receiving a multiplatform release outside of Xbox and PC, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer stated his intention to support the Switch 2 in the past. Putting out the highly acclaimed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may be the first step of the publisher’s Switch 2 strategy.

Besides Indiana Jones, there is a strong precedent for Bethesda games on the original Switch, including ports of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Doom Eternal, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Microsoft-owned Activision also committed to bringing Call of Duty titles to Nintendo platforms, but there has yet to be any indication of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 coming to Switch 2.

Switch 2 ports of Indiana Jones and Starfield should also prove to be interesting cases on how current-generation games run on the handheld platform–on the lower-end Xbox Series S, Starfield has multiple performance options, including 30fps and 60fps modes. And from the perspective of Starfield players, the release of a Switch 2 version may give them hope of Bethesda giving the title some additional attention.
