Frostpunk 2 Console Edition Preorder Are Now Live

After launching on PC last year, the post-apocalyptic, city-building strategy game Frostpunk 2 is making the jump to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 18. If you’re interested in adding a physical PS5 or Xbox copy to your collection, you can preorder the game now at multiple online retailers. There are currently no preorder bonuses for Frostpunk 2, but you’ll find two physical editions up for grabs–including a $50 standard edition and $100 Whiteout Edition–that both include a selection of collectibles. Frostpunk 2: Whiteout Edition

Frostpunk 2 earned excellent reviews when it launched for PC last year. Our Frostpunk 2 review gave the PC release an 8/10, noting its complex systems that allow for intense experimentation and a unique mix of factions that make it both a political simulator and survival city-builder.

Looking for another way to enjoy the unforgiving world of Frostpunk? Check out the Frostpunk Board Game. With support for one to four players, the strategy game has you guiding a small band of survivors to victory–which can be achieved in multiple ways. Whether you decide to be an evil leader terrorizing everyone you encounter or take a more tactical approach to survival, nothing is off the table. The challenging board game is seeing a $20 discount right now–and with games lasting around two hours, it’s an excellent choice for an extended (and intense) game night.

Alternatively, console players can prep for Frostpunk 2 by diving into the original Frostpunk. You’ll find it for $33 on both Xbox One and PS4, and while it’s not strictly necessary to play Frostpunk before Frostpunk 2, you’ll likely pick up small details in the sequel you’d otherwise miss. And if you’re a fan of survival games and city builders, it should be more than enough to keep you busy until September 18.
