Fans have reacted online to a promotional popcorn bucket of the horror icon Annabelle, in which the popcorn appears to be stored in her bottom.
Possessed doll Annabelle, based on a real-life supernatural myth, became the antagonist of The Conjuring film franchise, eventually becoming the star of its own Annabelle movies. The character features in the new film The Conjuring: Last Rites, and cinema chain Cinemark have released a promotional popcorn bucket to tie-in with the movie.

However, fans on X (formerly twitter) have pointed out the humorous positioning of the hole where the popcorn is stored, as a video from Cinemark revealed it was around the back of the doll.
“Eating out her ass. Great choice” replied one sarcastic user, with another adding: “That’s a bad design”.

Another pointed out the similarities to the Dune: Part Two sandworm popcorn bucket that released last year, which prompted similarly suggestive comparisons.

Aside from the design, others were wary of having the cursed doll as a collector’s item. “Now that’s scary,” wrote a fan. “I’m going to be freaked out whenever I walk into concessions and see that”.

Released September 5 in the UK, The Conjuring: Last Rites is intended to be the finale for the franchise, tying together The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Nun movie storylines.
It will be directed by Michael Chaves, who made the last two movies in the franchise, and see stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren.
Recently, the writer of the original Annabelle movies, Gary Dauberman, was announced to be writing a movie version of the cult horror video game The Medium. Away from the big screen, the owner of the real-life Annabelle doll, Dan Rivera, died last month while touring the US with the haunted toy.
