Metal community calls out Sleep Token fans for dropping crowdsurfers at Louder Than Life

Members of the metal community have called out fans of Sleep Token for dropping crowdsurfers at Louder Than Life.

Numerous metal fans have been quick to take to the Louder Than Life Bound 2026 Facebook group and criticise those who were in the audience for their poor concert etiquette.

The incidents they describe include numerous fans being dropped while trying to crowdsurf, and some have shared videos of them falling to the floor due to a reluctance from other fans to help hold them up. One fan even recalled how she had a crowdsurfer dropped on her head during the show, which led to her being knocked out, having a seizure while unconscious, and having to go to hospital in an ambulance.

Another fan claims that she heard someone shout “drop that bitch” in regard to another crowdsurfer, and “instead of helping, people were letting surfers fall hard into the crowd”.

In the post, she wrote: “I’ve lost a lot of respect for some Sleep Token fans after this festival. Crowd surfing is a completely normal part of rock shows. When you see someone surfing, you’re supposed to help them and be their wave to the shore.”

“The reason I lost respect is because someone shouted ‘Drop the b’ and others joined in chanting the same thing […] I was in the ASL area, and I can’t tell you how many medical workers had to drag people to the medical tent. It was over 50 by the end. Because of this chaos, I couldn’t even see the interpreter, and I was constantly distracted.”

Other fans also criticised the crowd for not moving enough during the performance, and one shared how they tried to start a pit a few times but was unable to get other people moving.

The masked metallers are currently out on their US arena tour and also made headlines when they stopped off at Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena last Wednesday (September 24) – playing a haunted version of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing In The Dark’.

The band released their fourth studio album ‘Even In Arcadia’ in May, which earned a glowing five-star review from NME. “‘Even In Arcadia’ shatters any pressure of expectation into oblivion, building on the bravery of its predecessor, sonically, while its lyrics reveal the most exposed version of Vessel we’ve seen yet. From Eden to Arcadia – and beyond – let the worship continue,” the review read.

The record has since been named as one of NME‘s best albums of 2025 so far. Sleep Token scored their first UK Number One album with the project (via Official Charts), with ‘Caramel’ earning them their first-ever UK top 10 single.
