Max Baby has announced a new EP, ‘Break’, with the single ‘Fakdap’. Check it out below.
Due for release on November 7, ‘Break’ is the second EP from the Paris-based artist, following on from last year’s ‘Out Of Control, Into The Wall’.
It’s previewed by ‘Fakdap’, a moody yet euphoric track driven by pulsing drums and a striking guitar riff.
Speaking on the song, Max Baby said: “I have this recurring dream: I leap into the air, soaring higher and higher. But when gravity pulls me back, the ground is gone, and I’m left falling endlessly.
“At its core, ‘Fakdap’ is about grappling with inner chaos, asking why things have to end, searching for a sense of home, and realising that recovery isn’t something you can do entirely alone. It’s a reminder that if you’re struggling, whether with depression or anything else, it’s okay to reach out for help.
“It may sound heavy, but to me this song transforms that weight into something light, cathartic, and even euphoric, turning struggle into release.” Check it out below.

NME caught Max Baby’s set at The Great Escape earlier this year, and included him in our roundup of the festival’s nine best new acts.
“In the dark confines of Dust on Friday night, Max Baby’s noirish new wave serves as the perfect pre-game for a big night ahead,” it read. “‘Trouble’ creeps with an illicit, lust-filled sexiness, the Parisian artist commanding his voice from purred lines to raspy bellows, while ‘Nothing Ever Changes’ teeters and totters beneath him like it’s already several pints deep.
“The spectre of Julian Casablancas’ influence looms from time to time, particularly in Baby’s on-stage mannerisms, but this is a thrilling introduction to an artist stepping into the spotlight after time spent working with the likes of Drugdealer and Weyes Blood.”
