Fans of Marvel and RuPaul’s Drag Race now have two reasons to watch the upcoming Ironheart series. It has been reported that fan-favorite drag queen, Shea Couleé, has now been cast in the upcoming Disney+ series in a secret role. Couleé placed in the top four in the fourth season of the show, and she also won the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, cementing her as one of the best drag queens in the long-standing series. She has gone on to appear in many magazines including Vogue, Out, and Metal. She also started a podcast called Wanna Be on Top? The podcasts premiered at the #1 spot on iTunes.

We are more than curious about what role Shea Couleé will be stepping in, and how it will impact her future within the MCU. She joins an already expansive cast that includes Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, the titular character. Also, Anthony Ramos and Alden Ehrenreich have joined the new series too. So far, not much is known about the show, but Williams has been shown in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer. She is shown to be a friend of Shuri, which makes total sense. Riri Williams calls herself Ironheart and builds an even more impressive suit of Iron Man armor. With Tony Stark dead in the MCU, someone must step in and be the eccentric genius that uses Stark Tech to fly around and take down the baddies.

Chinaka Hodge has been tasked with taking up the head writer job for Ironheart. Hodge has previously served as a head writer on the Snowpiercer adaptation series on TNT. She also has credits with Amazing Stories and The Midnight Club. It has not yet been reported if Hodge will take a crack at directing any of the episodes of the upcoming MCU series. Ironheart will not be premiering until the fall of 2023, so there is plenty of time to find out who is directing the series, and how Shea Couleé will factor into the story. She may even appear in another MCU show or film. She could be joining Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. That is just speculation, but the MCU often brings in a ton of wild cameos.

Shea Couleé most recently took third place in RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 7, which just aired its finale on July 29th. Even though she did not win that season, she is moving straight into the MCU. We would have to say that is a great way to move past the sadness of defeat.

Ironheart will debut on Disney+ in the fall of 2023. The series is going to be a huge part of Phase 5 of the MCU. Riri Williams, as previously mentioned, will be making her Marvel debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She could be developing her armor alongside Shuri, who has been rumored to take on the mantle of Black Panther. Although we don’t know what role Shea Couleé might hold currently, we could learn about her character in the coming months.
