Tom Holland‘s fourth solo adventure as Peter Parker will arrive in cinemas on July 31, 2026, ten years after his first appearance as the character in Captain America: Civil War. The film comes directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, and will feature the return of Holland’s cast mates Zendaya and Jacob Batalon.
Sadie Sink has also joined the cast in an unconfirmed role, while Jon Bernthal was recently confirmed to be appearing as The Punisher. Now, THR has reported that Ruffalo will be returning to reprise the role of Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, in the film.
Marvel and Sony had no comment on the news, per Deadline.

Discussing the upcoming film, Holland said he was “over the moon and so excited” to don the spider suit once again, particularly given filming for Spider-Man: No Way Home was greatly restricted by Covid, so filmmakers were forced to shoot “the entire film on stages”.
The 2021 film saw him team up with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, the previous actors to play Peter Parker, in a multiverse crossover. Recently, director Jon Watts revealed that the film’s big reveal was changed because fans had already guessed it on Reddit.

As for the forthcoming flick, Holland continued: “Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations,” he continued, “which is why we’re starting in Glasgow and we’re gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we’re putting together.

“So it’s gonna feel like making Spider-Man 1 again. It’s been such a long time since I’ve done it, it’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we’re putting together”.
With the project still in the early stages of development, plot details and further casting announcements are being kept tightly under wraps. However, back in October 2024, Holland and co-star Zendaya revealed that they had read the script for the fourth film and described it as “excellent”.
“It really lit a fire in me,” said Holland at the time. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.’ But there’s a few things we need to figure out before we can get that really going, but it’s exciting.”
