“It was incredible. It was incredible to see them back together again” he enthused. “And Paul McCartney was actually there and I think they sang a Beatles song. I remember I was in the section next to him and the whole sort of stadium looked back at Paul and clapped for Paul too which was which was awesome. It was a great tip of the hat. He continued: “It was a great tour. Everyone’s so excited about it. Really, much like Radiohead when that happens, too. I think everyone’s going to do their best to be there for those moments.”

Earlier in the interview, both DiCaprio and co-star Benicio Del Toro expressed excitement for Radiohead’s forthcoming shows, their first in seven years. “How could you not be a Radiohead fan?” asked DiCaprio, “what they’ve contributed to music, man, it’s incredible.”

When asked if they’ll be attending, the Oscar winner replied: “People are going to be flying all over the world for those, huh?” while Del Toro quipped: “We’re gonna elbow our way in!”

One Battle After Another is released in cinemas today (Friday September 26) and stars DiCaprio as a former revolutionary scrambling to save his daughter after she is kidnapped by an enemy from his past (Sean Penn). Del Toro co-stars as Sergio, a karate sensei with connections to the underworld.

The film has received a rapturous response from critics. NME’s four-star review remarked: “Thank the lord this $130m barmy blockbuster exists. From a pregnant Perfidia [Teyana Taylor] firing off rounds from her machine gun to an unforgettable finale on the undulating desert roads, it’s a mad stir of America’s melting pot on the cusp of boiling over.”
