Nintendo has confirmed the Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild soundtrack is finally coming to vinyl.
Set to launch next year in collaboration with Laced, Nintendo will release a double LP and an eight-LP vinyl box set featuring music from Breath Of The Wild’s epic soundtrack. Available on limited-edition colour or standard black vinyl, the release will also feature archival artwork created by the game development team.
“The eight-LP ‘Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Soundtrack Box Set’ includes 130 tracks, all newly remastered for the vinyl format. Each of the eight discs is sequenced around a theme, which mirrors the progression of the game experience. Themes revolve around exploring the Kingdom of Hyrule, freeing the Divine Beasts from Calamity Ganon’s hold and discovering the mysteries of the Shrines,” said Nintendo in a press release.
The double-LP set features 34 tracks “chosen to create an aural landscape that transports listeners back to the final days of the Great Calamity.” Both vinyl are available to pre-order now. The deluxe boxset costs £145 while the double vinyl will set you back £36.

Physical versions of Nintendo soundtracks are common in Japan but the international release of The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s soundtrack is a first for Nintendo. “Here in the U.S., we haven’t been releasing much in the way of physical soundtracks at all. And so partly, this is a little bit about us trying to gauge and understand what is the demand for physical soundtracks in the United States,” Bill Trinen, vice president of player and product experience at Nintendo America, told Variety. “Part of this is also simply an interest in trying to bring video game music to a broader audience, and it’s part of a few steps that we’ve taken.”
Earlier this year, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa teased the possibility of official orchestral tours, following the success of the Nintendo Music app which launched last October.

Nintendo has also responded to demands for the Mario Kart World soundtrack to be added to streaming. “I can’t go into too much detail, but I can say that it does actually take time and work to prepare soundtracks for Nintendo Music,” explained Trinen.
