Lana Del Rey responds to fans claiming she’s had plastic surgery

Lana Del Rey has responded to a claim from a fan that she has had plastic surgery.

The ‘Video Games’ singer took to social media to shut down the rumours that she went under the knife, writing in the comment section of a fan page on Instagram.

The post saw a fan discuss the singer’s 2008 EP ‘Kill Kill’, which she shared under her real name, Lizzy Grant. In the caption, the fan wrote, “lizzy grant u will never be forgotten”, prompting Lana to respond, writing: “Ugh she never went anywhere, no more of that.”

In a separate post, another fan commented on a throwback photo of the ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer and said: “Her natural nose was so perf (perfect).”

Once again, Lana got in touch and clarified that he had never undergone plastic surgery in any form, including a nose job.

“Still never even been under the knife or anesthesia in my life for the 15th year in a row!!” she wrote. She did, however, share that a doctor performed a minor procedure where filler is used to alter the appearance of the nose.

The procedure she refers to is nonsurgical rhinoplasty, which is a cosmetic procedure where dermal fillers are used to “build up the bridge of [your] nose”. It is often referred to as a “liquid nose job”, and relies on needles and fillers, unlike surgical rhinoplasty (via People). The results from the procedure last around six months.

Lana’s comments on Instagram come as she is currently gearing up to release a new album. She first shared details of the follow up to 2023’s ‘Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd’ last year, saying that it would see her hone in on a country sound.

Since then, the highly-anticipated 10th album has undergone some changes – being renamed from ‘Lasso’ to ‘The Right Person Will Stay’, and having the expected release date pushed back from May 2025 to September 2025.

Last month, Lana said that she has changed the name of her album to ‘Stove’, and will now be holding off on releasing until “the end of January” 2026.

Speaking to W, she said that the album was set to arrive earlier this spring, but had the release date pushed back when she decided to add six more songs to the tracklist.

It now isn’t certain just how much of a country sound the record will have, as Lana has since suggested that she was going to tone that down for a “more Southern gothic” approach.

One song on the album, ‘Stars Fell on Alabama’, was written about her husband, Louisiana alligator swamp tour guide Jeremy Dufrene, and has already been played at her recent live shows.

Other songs shared by Del Rey since her 2023 record include ‘Henry, Come On’ and ‘Bluebird’.

The album is being made alongside both regular collaborator, producer and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff, and country music maker Luke Laird. It looks like a new track called ‘57.7’ will be the next song to be dropped.

She also shared a snippet of new music last month, which saw her take aim at Ethel Cain.

Del Rey spoke to NME last year about the album, and suggested that the lyrics might be lighter than on her previous albums.

“I’ve maybe less to say in terms of any self-revealing things like on ‘Tunnel’ or ‘Blue Bannisters’ or ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’, and just more melodic,” she told us.

“Maybe more American Songbook style?”She also added that there would be a “playful” feel to it than she originally planned, saying: “If you hang in long enough, it just feels easy. There’s no vindication, no nothing – I’m just kind of happy to be here. It’s easy-going in that way.”
