Kirby and the Forgotten Land made quite an impact when it landed on Nintendo Switch back in 2022. In the titular pink mascot’s first true 3D adventure, players were treated to a lengthy and feature-filled campaign and a surprising amount of post-game content. Now, with the addition of the Star-Crossed World expansion, there’s even more to enjoy–provided you have a Nintendo Switch 2, that is.
With the introduction of Star-Crossed World, you can venture into previously completed levels to find all-new paths and scenery as you work to uncover the mystery behind a fallen meteor. But you won’t be able to start this DLC immediately. Instead, you’ll need to make a bit of progress in Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s main campaign first.
How to start the Star-Crossed World DLC in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
To begin the Star-Crossed World, you’ll need to have purchased Kirby and the Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World for Nintendo Switch 2. If you already own the original game, you can upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition–which includes the DLC–for $20. If you don’t own the original game, you can purchase the bundle containing both the main game and DLC for $80.
Once you’ve got the game, you’ll have to work your way through the prologue level, then complete the Natural Plains biome, which is the first set of levels in the game. This area is capped off by a boss battle against a giant gorilla, so you’ll no doubt know when you’ve wrapped it up.

Once you’ve completed Natural Plains, you’ll unlock Starry Stages, which are the main attraction of the Star-Crossed World expansion. These have all-new challenges and collectibles to discover, so they should keep you and Kirby busy for a while. Good luck out there!
Kirby and the Forgotten Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The Star-Crossed World expansion is exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
