Kevin Federline is now claiming Britney Spears abused cocaine while breastfeeding

Kevin Federline has alleged that Britney Spears was using cocaine during a period when she was breastfeeding their two children.

The two were married between 2004 and 2007 and they share two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Federline’s new memoir You Thought You Knew is set to be released on October 21 and in excerpts already shared, he has expressed concerns about the singer’s current mental health, which he has claimed is “racing toward something irreversible”.

Now, in another section published by US Weekly, Federline has made assertions about Spears’ actions in 2006 when their eldest was 13 months old and the youngest just one month old.

He says that at a release party for his album ‘Playing With Fire’, he was alerted by Britney’s father Jamie that something was wrong. “He threw a look my way, shook his head, and motioned to my dressing room door,” Federline writes. “His expression sat in that flat blank space between disapproval and apprehension, as if to say: ‘She’s here, and it’s not good.’”

He says he walked into the room to find Spears with an unnamed famous actress. “The first thing I saw was Britney and her young starlet friend snorting a fat line of coke off the table,” Federline claims. “Both were wearing these outrageous wigs. Britney’s was electric blue. It was surreal. They didn’t even try to hide it.”

He claims he pleaded with her: “Please don’t go home and breastfeed the kids like this. Call your mom or someone. We need to get formula. You can’t do this.”

He says Spears then threw a cocktail in his face, before storming out of the party. “That was the proverbial final straw, the breastfeeding thing. Her reaction,” he added. “That’s what ended us.”

Britney has responded to Federline’s recent comments in a lengthy post on X this week, saying that the “constant gaslighting” from her ex-husband has been “extremely hurtful and exhausting”.

“I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” she added. “Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life. Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own father for me.”

“They need to take responsibility for themselves. With one son only seeing me for 45 min in the past 5 years and the other with only 4 visits in the past 5 years. I have pride too. From now on I will let them know when I am available. Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.”

“I will always love them and if you really know me, you won’t pay attention to the tabloids of my mental health and drinking,” she concluded. “I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life the past 5 years. I speak on this because I have had enough and any real woman would do the same.”

In a follow-up post, she also implied that Federline is trying to “profit off my pain”. “I 100 percent beg to differ the way he is literally attacking me in his interviews,” she added. See the full statement above.

Spears has also responded to Federline’s claims through a representative with a statement via Entertainment Weekly.

“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” the representative said. “All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir (Spears published her memoir The Woman In Me in 2023).”

In her book, Spears wrote that Federline “took my world away from me” during their custody battle, adding: “He knocked the breath out of me. And my family did not hold me.”

Elsewhere, Spears claimed that she had adopted a “beautiful baby girl” named Lennon London Spears in a length social media video in July.
