HP Victus Gaming Laptop Is Only $480 With Best Buy Doorbuster Deal

Best Buy’s second batch of Black Friday Doorbuster deals is available now through November 9. On the gaming side, the marquee deal is an HP Victus 15.6-inch gaming laptop for only $480. Normally $780, this entry-level gaming laptop could make for a great gift this holiday. It’s rare for a brand-name gaming laptop to fall below $500, so this deal might sell out before it officially expires. The HP Victus holds a 4.6/5 star rating at Best Buy based on over 200 customer reviews.

The HP Victus is one of two gaming Doorbusters this weekend. Best Buy is also offering a 50% discount on the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Wireless Gaming Headset. Normally $330, Turtle Beach’s high-end headset is up for grabs for only $165. This is a tremendous deal on one of the best noise-canceling gaming headsets for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Check out our Turtle Beach Stealth Pro review to read more about the headset.

This configuration of the HP Victus has a 15.6-inch LED display with 300 nits brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 GPU and Intel 13th Gen i5 CPU fall squarely in the entry-level category for graphics and processing power. The Victus will play many games, including newer AAA titles, but graphically intensive titles will often require you to play with a mix of low and medium settings.

The Victus has 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD; both figures are often viewed as the minimum for gaming PCs these days. Many AAA games have recommended configurations that include 16GB RAM, but 8GB meets the minimum for visually demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Just be aware that with a laptop such as this Victus, you sometimes need to lower the resolution to 720p get better than 30fps.

Even with its drawbacks, the HP Victus is a bargain for $480, especially for those who want to play indies and older AAA games on PC. For comparison, this laptop is more powerful than the Steam Deck, and millions of gamers are happy with the performance on Valve’s handheld. The Victus has sleek form factor and a full keyboard with a numpad. In terms of its appearance and build quality, the Victus is one of the better entry-level options out there.
