As one of the rarer plants you can cultivate in the Roblox gardening sim, getting your hands on this Divine-tier fruit can be surprisingly difficult despite it being available throughout the year. However, if you have the money to snag one, it’ll soon pay for itself if you give it a few mutations.
Not to be confused with the Choc Grow A Garden mutation, there are many advantages to growing Cacao in Grow A Garden. Not only is it worth a reasonable amount per fruit, but if you have some available an hour before the next Grow A Garden update, you can use them as an offering to the Ice King during the exclusive Ice King weather event to get the exclusive Frostspike seed. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. This is how you get the Cacao seed in Grow A Garden, how much you get for selling its fruit, and everything else you need to know about it.
Where to buy the Grow A Garden Cacao seed
The good news is that you don’t need to wait for an event to get the Grow A Garden Cacao seed. You can find it in the Seed Shop about halfway down the list for 2,500,000 Sheckles or 679 Robux. It’s not worth spending your precious Robux on it, as that’s roughly the value of a higher-tier Grow A Garden pet, but it does at least guarantee you can buy it immediately.
The tricky bit is that it doesn’t always appear in the Seed Shop. Upon every seed restock, there’s roughly a 1 in 150 chance that one or two seeds will appear in the shop. Fortunately, the Cacao is one of the many multiple-harvest plants you can grow, with a minimum value of 10,830 Sheckles per fruit. It’s also affected by the Tropical Mist Sprinkler, purchasable from the Sprinkler Merchant for 50,000,000 Sheckles or 229 Robux, despite it not being a tropical-type plant.
There are a few other ways to get a Cacao seed, but most involve already having at least one of them in your garden. Sometimes a new seed will appear during a harvest, which becomes more likely if you have a Snail pet roaming around your plot. The Red Fox steals a random seed from another player’s garden, so the chances it will pick a Cacao are extremely slim. There’s also a minuscule chance that a Dog, Golden Lab, or Shiba Inu will dig up the Cacao seed.
Finally, during Admin Abuse events, they might run the Seed Rain Grow A Garden weather, which has a slim chance of dropping Cacao among many other rare types of seed. It has been available in the past during special events, but given its availability in the regular Seed Shop, it’s unlikely that it will return in the same form. This is especially true now that the Daily Deals tab includes previously available seeds from that time period.
