Hollow Knight: Silksong has become one of the most anticipated games in recent years. Originally planned as an expansion for 2017’s fiendishly difficult metroidvania Hollow Knight, developers Team Cherry later decided to turn it into a full-blown sequel. Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally set to launch in 2023 before being indefinitely delayed.
Last week, it was confirmed Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch September 4. Now developers have announced exactly when you’ll be able to play the sequel.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will get a global launch, meaning the game will be available to play from 3pm BST on September 4.
Four days until release! Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on 4th September.

“Super cool of them. People probably would have paid double that,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “Seven years in development and still that cheap. props to Team Cherry. They could probably sell it at full AAA price and still sell gangbusters, but they respect their players,” added another.
The original Hollow Knight game cost £15 and was released in 2017. The studio has also announced they will also not be giving journalists early access to Hollow Knight: Silksong to ensure those that originally backed the game on Kickstarter get first access. However a number of early previews have been shared, with many saying the game lives up to the hype.
“Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song,” reads the official description. As well as launching for Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation and PC, Hollow Knight: Silksong will also be a Day One release for Xbox Game Pass.
In other news, Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima has revealed he plays “maybe one game” a year and takes his inspiration from other art forms. “There are a lot of game creators just watching other games.”
