Eagle-eyed fans are convinced that Taylor Swift is set to headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show after picking up on various Easter eggs in her recent album announcement.

Last week, Swift announced her highly anticipated 12th studio album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, confirming the album’s release date, as well as sharing its tracklist and producers.
The album was revealed in detail on her first-ever appearance on the New Heights sports podcast, hosted by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason, both professional football players.
For some fans, this was confirmation enough that she’ll headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show, because the choice to announce her album on there specifically seemed a puzzling, but perhaps intentional choice.

Taylor Swift could be hinting at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show:
On “New Heights,” Taylor said she has watched every Super Bowl halftime show, thinks about sourdough “60% of the time,” and mentioned the number 47 several times.

“I’m never going to plant an Easter egg that ties back to my personal life,” Swift mentioned on the podcast. “It’s always going to be towards music, something I have coming up.” That in mind, her fans were quick to note her references to baking sourdough.

When Swift said: “I’m really talking about bread 60 percent of the time,” fans sensed a possible reference to two things: The mascot of the 49ers is Sourdough Sam and next year’s Super Bowl 60 will be held at Levi’s Stadium – the home of the 49ers’ (and Sourdough Sam’s) in Santa Clara.
The 49ers later added fuel to fire by sharing a light-hearted TikTok of their stadium with a viral audio, in which someone asks: “What’s going on here? Why’s everyone acting weird towards me.”
Elsewhere in the podcast appearance, Swift explained her love of numerology and how use often used numbers as Easter eggs, which left Swifties convinced there was a reason she kept mentioning the number 47 throughout the podcast.
Fans later took to social media to herald her a “genius” after that Levi’s Stadium marked the 47th stop on the singer’s massive ‘Eras Tour’. Some took it one step further, and speculated the 49ers team name could be another clue, given four plus nine is 13, famously Swift’s favourite number, not to mention 2026 will be Travis Kelce’s 13th NFL season.
As she detailed on the podcast, her upcoming record will be about her life behind the scenes of her record-breaking Eras Tour.
“What was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant. It just comes from like the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life,” she explained.
Swift also shared that the upcoming record will differ from her previous album – 2024’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ – in that it will not come with additional tracks.
In April last year, Swift released ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as a 16-track record, only to surprise-release an extended version just hours after the original album dropped. She would later describe ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as a double album in a letter to fans – it spanned a total of 31 songs.
