Lady Gaga has kicked off her London residency, and broken out a stacked run of her biggest hits. Check out footage and the setlist below.
The gig took place last night (Monday September 29) at The O2 in London, marking the first of her four nights at the huge venue.
Arriving as part of her ongoing ‘Mayhem Ball Tour’, the shows come in celebration of Gaga’s latest studio album, ‘MAYHEM’, which was her seventh consecutive Number One record. The performances on this run of dates are produced by Gaga and Michael Polansky, with the choreography coming from Parris Goebel.
Gaga played a stacked 32-song set at the first of the shows at The O2, kicking off with a mix of old and new tracks like ‘Abracadabra’, ‘Judas’, ‘Garden Of Eden’ and ‘Poker Face’. This was for the first of five sections, and called ‘Of Velvet & Vice’.
The second act, titled ‘And She Fell Into A Gothic Dream’, saw renditions of ‘Disease’, ‘Paparazzi’, ‘LoveGame’, and ‘Alejandro’. This was followed by a third act called ‘The Beautiful Nightmare That Knows Her Name’, which included on-stage appearances from Emma Myers and Evie Templeton, who joined Gaga for both the new single ‘The Dead Dance’ and ‘LoveDrug’.
Later in the set, Gaga broke out solo versions of ‘Shallow’, which she recorded with Bradley Cooper, and ‘Die With A Smile, which she released with Bruno Mars, and also delivered an acoustic version of ‘The Edge Of Glory’, as well as the first acoustic rendition of ‘Speechless’ since 2017.

The remainder of Gaga’s shows at The O2 continue tonight (Tuesday September 30), and throughout the remainder of this week. Afterwards, she will make stops in Manchester, Stockholm, Milan, Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Lyon, before closing out the European leg with four performances at the Accor Arena in Paris.
It follows on from her headline performances at Coachella this spring, as well as taking on huge stadium dates in Mexico City and Singapore this year. In Rio de Janeiro, her free show at Copacabana Beach drew approximately 2.5million fans – setting a new record for the highest attended concert by a female artist in history.
Gaga continues her performances next year with a US leg of the tour, which kicks off in Glendale, Arizona, in February. Visit here for remaining UK tickets and here for international dates.
In a four-star review of ‘Mayhem’, NME wrote: “Ultimately, ‘Mayhem’ feels like a great Gaga album because it’s just so much fun. At times, it’s a bit like reconnecting with an old friend who makes sense even when they seem to be chatting nonsense. When she sings ‘river in my eyes, I’ve got a poem in my throat‘ on ‘LoveDrug’, it’s just her overblown way of saying she’s sad and tongue-tied.
“Seventeen years after she broke through with ‘Just Dance’, Lady Gaga remains pop’s foremost agent of impeccably crafted chaos.”
