If you were a fan of traversing around in the grass in Grounded, you’re probably eager to jump into Grounded 2 to see what’s next in this cooperative survival adventure franchise. With an even larger open world and plenty of new features and mechanics to figure out, this one’s all but guaranteed to be a hit for new and returning players. But before you dive in and check everything out, here’s what you’ll want to know about Grounded 2’s cross-play and cross-progression features.
Does Grounded 2 have cross-play?
If you’re eager to tackle the dangerous world of Grounded 2 with friends, but you’re concerned that you’re on different platforms–don’t worry! Grounded 2 fully supports cross-play across Xbox Series X and PC, meaning you and your friends can team up regardless of where you enjoy playing your games.
To enjoy cross-play in Grounded 2, you’ll need a Microsoft account. After you’ve signed up and linked the accounts, you can check to play sure cross-play is enabled by heading to the Options menu. Scroll to the bottom and enable cross-play if needed, then you’ll be all set and ready to jump in with your pals!
Does Grounded 2 have cross-progression?
There’s more good news, too. Grounded 2 supports cross-progression as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative as long as the game is purchased on the Microsoft Store or accessed via Game Pass. Those who purchase the game on Steam, for instance, won’t be able to make use of cross-save functionality.
For those within Microsoft’s ecosystem, however, Xbox Play Anywhere allows you to start the game on your Xbox, then pick up your save on PC–or vice versa. You can swap back and forth between the two at any time without worrying that your progress will be lost.
