Glen Powell Says He’s “Very Interested” In Joining Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Movie

One of the biggest rising Hollywood stars of the past few years wants to help bring one of the most critically acclaimed video games of the year to the silver screen. Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters actor Glen Powell has thrown his beret into the ring to join the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 movie.

Powell, who will next be seen in The Running Man, brought up Clair Obscur during a recent interview with IGN.

“You know, [Clair Obscur: Expedition 33] is one that I’ve become a fan of. If there’s an Expedition 33 movie, I’d be very interested.”

Powell played coy about whether he had a specific role in mind, though.

“I’m not going to say much more than that,” the actor said.

A live-action movie adaptation of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was announced earlier this year, before the RPG had even launched. Developer Sandfall Interactive is teaming up on the film with Story Kitchen, which previously worked on the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and is producing the Life Is Strange TV series for Amazon MGM Studios.

The game version of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 features a pretty stacked cast of voice actors, including Daredevil star Charlie Cox and Gollum actor Andy Serkis. Other notable cast members are Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16) and Jennifer English (Baldur’s Gate 3).

Earlier this month, Sandfall revealed that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had sold more than 5 million copies since launching in April on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A new update for the game is in the works that will add “challenging new boss battles.” For more, check out GameSpot’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 review.
