The launch times for Ghost Of Yōtei have been announced, with gamers in the UK and Europe able to play the long-awaited sequel before fans in North America.
Ghost Of Yōtei is the follow-up to the beloved Ghost Of Tsushima. While the original game focused on Jin Sakai, the last samurai, and his fight for the freedom of Japan, Yōtei is set in a completely different time period and features brand new protagonist Atsu as she hunts down the gang of outlaws who killed her family and left her for dead.
“While the stories are unrelated, it’s important to us to make this a worthy follow-up to Jin’s journey, and we can’t wait for you to experience Atsu’s quest for vengeance later this year,” wrote Sucker Punch’s Andrew Goldfarb when he confirmed the October 2 launch date for Ghost Of Yōtei earlier this year.
“In Ghost Of Yōtei, we’ve built upon and evolved the way you explore the open world, offering even more freedom and variety than in Ghost Of Tsushima.”
Developers Sucker Punch have now confirmed exactly when you’ll be able to play Ghost Of Yōtei and it’s good news for anyone living outside of North America (via IGN).
Ghost Of Yōtei will go live later today (October 1) in North America at 9pm PDT/10pm MT/11pm CT and midnight ET. Rather than a co-ordinated global release, gamers in other countries will be able to play at midnight tonight, local time. Because of the time differences, this means UK gamers will be able to play five hours before fans in North America.
In Ghost of Yōtei, Atsu’s friends and allies will aid her during her journey.
