Genshin Impact’s Annual Update Launches With Its Seventh Region Ahead Of Fifth Anniversary

The time for Genshin Impact’s major annual update has arrived, bringing with it the game’s seventh major region, new storylines and characters, and special events to celebrate the game’s fifth anniversary.

Version Luna 1, aka Song of the Welsin Moon: Segue, debuts Nod-Krai, the latest explorable region expanding the world of Teyvat: an autonomous setting where diverse factions converge for the main stage of the game’s new “Song of the Welkin Moon” version series.

Nod-Krai consists of three island areas–Hisi Island, Lempo Isle, and Paha Isle–but players will begin their journey from Nasha Town, the main human settlement southeast of Lempo Isle, after sailing across the sea from Natlan.

Along with a new region comes the continuation of Genshin Impact’s main storyline and side content, which will welcome several new characters that can be obtained in exclusive banners during the latest update. These new playable characters include the Dendro 5-star Lauma, the Electro 5-star Flins, and Hydro 4-star Aino.

Players can also get their hands on a free 5-star character, Primogems ×1,600, Intertwined Fate ×10, and more for the new update.

Version Luna 1 will also allow players to explore characters’ daily lives in Teyvat with a new feature called Meeting Points, where chatting and completing unique events will reveal more stories about each character’s respective faction and the world.

To celebrate the game’s fifth anniversary, a special collaboration between Genshin Impact and Among Us will begin from September 11 to October 11, where players can unlock the free Paimon Cosmetic Set, which includes the Paimon Wig, Paimon Costume, and Nameplate, in Among Us.

Fans can also look forward to the return of HoYoFair 2025, scheduled for September 20, with the “Parallels Meet” Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program, a two-hour livestream showcasing fan-made works.
