The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special early reviews are up and are praising the new special for its charm and cheer.
The MCU is about to change once again, but this time it is being done by the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is set to premiere in two days. The new holiday special will reunite everyone’s favorite snarky superhero team. However, the early previews are already going on, and critics are all praising the new Marvel movie for its cheerful holiday heart.
From the trailer alone, we can tell that Mantis was going to be getting more of a spotlight, but this time with the help of Dave Bautista’s Drax. The pair are chasing down Kevin Bacon, so that he may provide Christmas cheer to Star-Lord, who is upset at losing Gamora. It appears that the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is going to remind us what friends are for while providing plenty of laughs.
We are likely all feeling plenty of Marvel fatigue, as there has been a ton of shows and movies to catch up on across movie theaters and Disney+. However, it appears that Variety is stating the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is one of the better entries out of the cavalcade of MCU properties available. We are certainly excited to see it.
We certainly applaud Marvel and Disney for wanting to branch out and do something completely different with the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. It appears that both Werewolf by Night and the holiday special are aiming to branch out and offer fans a much different look at some of the best comic content available. While the above review is simplistic in its delivery, we appreciate that the GotG are wanting to make something that makes sense in their world by turning Christmas into universal lore.
For being only a 44-minute movie, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has opened with quite a favorable Rotten Tomatoes score. While everyone was hoping to see a much grander adventure, we are glad this new holiday special is only aiming to bring joyful laughs while serving as the presumed prologue to the final GotG movie.
James Gunn has taken over DC Films and is leaving behind Marvel for the foreseeable future. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are the final movies that we are going to see the best ragtag group of superheroes together. We are not sure if any of the characters are going to appear in any other MCU entries, but we are glad they will be getting a proper send-off.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be debuting on Disney+ on Friday, November 25th. The new special brings back series favorites, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Sean Gunn, Pom, Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Copper, and Kevin Bacon. We are sure there are going to be more surprise cameos happening, as Gunn has stated the movie will hold implications for the future of the MCU. Either way, we are excited to see this new Marvel holiday adventure.
