Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson enter a life-threatening walking contest in survival thriller The Long Walk.
Directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games), the film follows a group of young men who volunteer for an annual walking contest where they must maintain a speed of at least three miles per hour, or risk execution.
The Long Walk is based on the 1979 book of the same name by Stephen King, who wrote it under his pseudonym Richard Bachman. Other cast members in the film include Garrett Wareing, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Joshua Odjick, Mark Hamill and Judy Greer.
The film was released in cinemas worldwide on September 12, 2025.
Who composed the soundtrack for The Long Walk?
The film’s score is by Jeremiah Fraites, who is best known as a member of alternative folk band The Lumineers. This marks his first ever score for a feature film.
Speaking about the soundtrack, Fraites said: “Getting to work with Francis [Lawrence] has been an absolute dream come true—I’ve been a huge fan of his films for as long as I can remember.
“My goal was to create music that not only heightened the horror elements but also honoured the deeply human, coming-of-age heart of the story. This project has been one of the most inspiring and rewarding experiences of my career.”
