The Conjuring: Last Rites is in cinemas now, but what songs feature on the film’s soundtrack? Find out below.
It follows on from The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It in 2021, and it catches up with Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Lorraine and Ed Warren, the husband-and-wife paranormal investigators loosely based on real-life figures.
The film is being marketed as the final entry in the nine-movie Conjuring Universe that began with The Conjuring in 2013 and has gone on to include the spin-off series Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation and Annabelle Comes Home, as well as The Nun and The Nun II.
This time around, the Warrens take on one last horrifying case in 1986 as they travel to Pennsylvania to vanquish a demon from a family’s home. Mia Tomlinson (The Beast Must Die) is introduced to the series as their daughter Judy, while Ben Hardy (EastEnders, Bohemian Rhapsody) plays Judy’s boyfriend Tony.
Last Rites is directed by Michael Chaves, who also helmed The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II, and written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, based on a story by Johnson-McGoldrick and James Wan, all veterans of the Conjuring Universe.
In a three-star review of the film, NME wrote: “Said screenwriters appear to have been overawed by the sense of finality, resulting in a lot of faux-emotional babble that eats up valuable scream time. This might be more forgivable if the laughable final showdown didn’t, ironically, come off like a ropey SNL skit. Inevitably, the coffin lid is left open for a future spin-off: expect The Conjuring to rise again.”

As with many of the films in the series, Last Rites relies on a haunting original score rather than ear-catching pop music needle drops.
This time around, the score has been composed by Benjamin Wallfisch, replacing Joseph Bishara, who oversaw the music for the previous three Conjuring films.
British composer Wallfisch is best known for his contributions to Blade Runner: 2049, It Chapter Two, Hidden Figures, The Invisible Man, Twisters and Alien: Romulus.
