Does the dog Indy die in Good Boy?

Search engines were flooded with this very question in the days following the release of the trailer.

Bloodthirsty horror fans may have a strong stomach for violence and gore on the big screen, but the threat of harm to an adorable canine like Indy would seem to cross the line for many, with many eager to know in advance whether there might be a sticky end for the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

Inevitably, the film places Indy in peril for much of its running time, with the trailer revealing that he is at times in anguish while being chained down in his home. Other scenes show him crying out in fear and pain and cowering under a bed as a strange force roams through the house. Reports also indicate the Indy is confronted by a ghost dog later in the story.
