It looks like Crash Bandicoot is set to make a comeback via an animated Netflix show.
According to What’s On Netflix, the streamer has teamed up with WildBrain Studios for an animated Crash Bandicoot show. WildBrain previously worked on the animated Sonic The Hedgehog show Sonic Prime, which ran for three seasons between 2022 and 2024.
Netflix has yet to comment on the report.
“I’m cautiously optimistic,” wrote one fan. “If this isn’t a Road Runner/Wile E Coyote type sketch show with Neo Cortex and his minions trying to catch Crash and repeatedly failing, then they don’t get it and should’ve never greenlit this,” said another. “Probably about twenty years too late, but better late than never I guess,” added a third fan.
“Please just make a new game, I’m begging you,” wrote another.
ALRIGHT. GAME AWARDS TWEETED ABOUT IT.

Previously, Amazon had begun to develop The Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Cartoon Show in collaboration with Activision but the project was scrapped in 2021 due to creative differences. However Crash did appear in Netflix’s 2016 Spyro The Dragon series’ Skylanders Academy where he was voiced by Eric Rogers. He returned in the third and final season, played by Rhys Darby.

The original trilogy of Crash Bandicoot games were released between 1996 and 1998. The 3D platformers were a hit with fans, and inspired a number of spin-offs including the beloved Crash Team Racing series and party game Crash Bash. In 2020, developers Toys For Bob and Activision released Crash Bandicoot 4. Despite selling more than 5million copies, it was reported that Activision scrapped plans for Crash Bandicoot 5.
In a Did You Know Gaming video, gaming historian Liam Robertson claimed that the plot for Crash 5 would have seen Warped antagonist Uka Uka access the world of Spyro and cause havoc with the Dragon Elders, with Crash needing to travel between universes to save the day. It’s also reported that both Crash and Spyro would have been playable characters, with the pair able to team up.
Earlier this year, Activision seemed to hint that a Crash revival was on the cards after fans were encouraged to give feedback on a number of AI-generated adverts featuring the manic marsupial but so far, nothing has been announced.
In other news, the latest rumours about the next-gen Xbox console say the successor to the Series X/S will cost at least $1000.
