The musician was supposed to be going on a tour from this Saturday, October 4, stopping at locations including Manchester, Brighton, Sheffield and Cardiff. She was set to play music from her most recent album, ‘Euro-Country’.
However, she shared through an Instagram post today (October 1) that she will have to reschedule all of her upcoming shows in October, as she is having an emergency wisdom tooth surgery and requires recovery time.
“i am devastated to say that due to an infected wisdom tooth i need to reschedule all of my upcoming dates of the October UK tour,” the post reads.
“i woke up today with a throbbing pain in my jaw and booked an emergency visit with my dentist. he has booked me in for surgery to remove both lower wisdom teeth next week and given me antibiotics to help with the infection.
“i am told the recovery period for my surgery is two weeks to allow me to heal, with a following short period to allow me get back to full health. we are working to reschedule dates and will provide information on this as soon as possible.”
CMAT clarified that all tickets will be valid for the new dates, and she apologised to fans for any inconvenience or difficulty that this has brought them. “i am in so much pain right now that i can barely think straight enough to type,” she wrote. “all i can do is lie in bed watching The Osbournes and dream about making it up to you all in the very near future. I love to sing so much.”

Her 2025 album ‘Euro-Country’ was recently shortlisted for the Mercury Prize 2025, alongside Fontaines D.C.‘s ‘Romance’, Pulp‘s comeback record ‘More’, PinkPantheress‘ ‘Fancy That’, Wolf Alice‘s ‘The Clearing’, Sam Fender‘s ‘People Watching’, FKA Twigs (‘Eusexua’), Pa Salieu (‘Afrikan Alien’) and Emma-Jean Thackray (‘Weirdo’).
NME gave the album a glowing five-star review, which read: “Modernity has failed us, but that won’t stop Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson. That’s the CMAT way in 2025: approach with absolute confidence, total honesty is the only option, and you might as well have a laugh and shake your bits while you’re at it.
“‘Euro-Country’ has the courage and the consistency to land high on the fast-approaching end-of-year lists, and to make CMAT the icon she’s been giving all this time.”
Last month, CMAT made her US TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where she performed her hit single ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’.
Since its release back in June, the track has inspired a TikTok dance trend dubbed the “woke macarena”. The dance centres around the song’s second verse, where CMAT sings: “I did the butcher, I did the baker / I did the home and the family maker / I did school girl fantasies / Oh, I did leg things and hand stuff / And single woman banter / Now tell me, what was in it for me?”
Amelia Dimoldenberg, Julia Fox, Cher Lloyd and former NME cover star Lola Young are among those who jumped on the trend, and now the song has had its US television debut.
The Irish singer-songwriter has announced a huge UK and Ireland headline tour for 2026. Kicking off in Edinburgh on March 7, the forthcoming trek also includes shows in Brighton, Manchester, Dublin and Cork. The run of dates features a massive performance at London’s Alexandra Palace too, scheduled for March 13.
In other news, CMAT revealed in the summer that she “didn’t sleep” in the run-up to her performance at Glastonbury 2025.
NME gave the Pyramid Stage performance a glowing five-star review, writing: “CMAT captures the spirit of Glasto and sets the bar for the coming weekend – and her life, it seems.” NME also featured the slot as one of “the most unforgettable moments from Worthy Farm” this year.
