The World Soundtrack Awards 2025 took place last night (October 16) and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took home the Game Music Award – check out all the winners below:
According to organisers, the nominees for the World Soundtrack Awards 2025 “once again highlight the incredible scores and songs composed for film and television over the past year,” but the ceremony also included a dedicated category for Game Music.
The metal-inspired soundtrack for Doom: The Dark Ages and Dune: Awakening’s score made the shortlist alongside casual indie game Farewell North and puzzle-platformer Neva. However the World Soundtrack Award for Game Music went to Lorien Testard’s classic soundtrack for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
“Congratulations Lorien Testard for winning the Game Music Award at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards. His magical work on the soundtrack of Expedition 33 has forever captured our hearts and we couldn’t be more proud,” Clair Obscur developers wrote on social media shortly after his win.

“But I’ve loved video game music and listened to a lot of it when I was younger – Zelda, Xenoblade, Nier, and Joe Hisaishi (Studio Ghibli) along with all the French music I’ve grown up with. That music has been part of my life for years, so it’s shaped the way I hear and write music,” he added.
Later this month, the first Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 live orchestral concerts will take place in France ahead with international dates planned for 2026. Both Testard and vocalist Alice Duport-Percier will be involved in the gigs, as will the Curieux Orchestra.
In other news, the 2026 European leg of Sony’s live PlayStation: The Concert tour has now been cancelled after being rescheduled earlier this year.
