“Last summer, they know what you did. This summer the Fisherman’s in your lobby,” reads the accompanying message.

Release details for the horror crossover haven’t been shared just yet but Black Ops 6 is due to kickstart its Season 5 at the start of next month.

The I Know What You Did Last Summer collab comes hot on the heels of a controversial American Dad! crossover, which added cartoons Roger and Stan Smith into the realistic shooter

“Man I’m so sick of the collabs,” one fan wrote on X. “Is Call Of Duty now just ad space for other things now,” added another. Other fans are frustrated Black Ops 6 is still offering paid content when the follow-up Black Ops 7 is due out later this year. If previous Call Of Duty games are anything to go on, players won’t be able to transfer their purchases between titles.

More details about Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 are rumoured to be revealed during Gamescom, which takes place at the end of August. According to a press release, Black Ops 7 is set more than 40 years after the events of 6.

“The year is 2035 and the world is on the brink of chaos, ravaged by violent conflict and psychological warfare following the events of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. Wielding cutting-edge technology, David Mason and his team must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponises fear above all else,” explained the announcement.

The rebooted I Know What You Did Last Summer hit cinemas last week. Set 27 years after the cult slasher classic, the film sees a group of teens once again being pursued by a killer and sees the return of OG stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr..

In a one-star review of the new I Know What You Did Last Summer, NME wrote: “Our collective tolerance for gore has risen over the years so the murders are bloodier than before but they lack creativity or suspense. For a horror, it’s just not very scary. There is a twist in the tale, but the predictable reveal will be obvious to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention and it’ll leave you with more questions than answers. This awkward by-the-numbers slasher wouldn’t have stood up to scrutiny three decades ago and falls desperately short in an era where elevated horror has become the norm.”

In other news, Nintendo has revealed the details of the paid Switch 2 upgrade for Super Mario Party Jamboree and fans aren’t impressed.
