Activision and developer Treyarch have announced that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Vault Edition operator T.E.D.D. is getting a makeover based on “recent feedback.”
In a social media post, Treyarch showed off T.E.D.D.’s new look, and it’s pretty significant. “We think it’s pretty face-melting,” the developer said, referencing how the new design has T.E.D.D.’s face melted off. In the original version (see below), T.E.D.D. has a human-looking face covering his robotics.
In the spirit of addressing some recent feedback, we’re making a few visual changes to some of the Vault Edition Operators… starting with our favorite post-apocalyptic bus driver.

First introduced in Black Ops 2, T.E.D.D. is the bus driver on the popular TranZit map, and with Black Ops 7’s new Zombies mode taking inspiration from TranZit, T.E.D.D. is coming back. People didn’t love T.E.D.D.’s new look, and now Activision is changing things up. The company alluded to visual changes for other Vault Edition operators, too, so check back for more information on any other changes.
The other Vault Edition operators for Black Ops 7 are Karma, Harper, and Reaper EWR-3. You can see all four below.

Black Ops 7’s Vault Edition is $100, and it also includes early access to the upcoming multiplayer beta, the Reznov operator skin, the Guild Override weapon camo, and other benefits. For more, be sure to consult GameSpot’s Black Ops 7 preorder guide to find out which version is right for you.
In other news, Activision recently said it has heard the feedback around Call of Duty’s wacky and weird skins, saying it understands people have concerns that the series has “drifted” from its identity. The company didn’t make any announcements about what this might mean, though the Carry Forward program will not apply to Black Ops 7, so your Cheech & Chong skins won’t be in Black Ops 7.
Activision made these announcements amid positive feedback around competitor Battlefield 6 and particularly its stance on having only “grounded” cosmetics. That said, we’re betting Battlefield 6 will indeed have crossover skins because EA likes money.
