BTS have denied reports that they are participating in an upcoming Michael Jackson tribute album.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced online from The Irish Sun alleging that BTS were one of several artists to be recording music for a tribute to the King of Pop. The Irish Sun have now removed any mention of BTS from their reporting.
According to The Irish Sun‘s original reporting, the K-pop group were supposed to record a cover of an unreleased Michael Jackson song. The song reportedly stemmed from a 2006 recording session Michael Jackson had at the Grouse Lodge studio in Ireland that never saw the light of day.
Yesterday (August 5), BTS and their label Big Hit took to social media to distance themselves from any attachment to the project. “We would like to address recent media reports concerning BTS’ alleged participation in a Michael Jackson tribute album,” the label began.
“BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland no rake part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project. The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity. We are continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.”

It is currently unclear who else is seemingly involved in the tribute album or when it will be released.

As for BTS, the K-pop juggernauts in early July reunited for the first time since 2022, with all seven members having completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. During a special livestream, the band confirmed rumours that they were preparing to release new music.
“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” BTS said in a statement.
“We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album,” they added. “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
