Battlefield 6’s first season will begin on October 28, EA and Battlefield Studios have announced. The developer also disclosed some of what’s coming to the game, including new maps and guns.
Season 1 will play out in three phases, including Rogue Ops, California Resistance, and Winter Offensive. Each phase adds a new map and other items, including weapons. Here’s a rundown:
October 28: Rogue Ops
This first phase adds the Blackwell Fields map, along with a new mode called Strikepoint and a new vehicle called Traverser Mark 2. It also adds new guns, including the SOR-300SC carbine, the GGH-22 sidearm, the Mini Scout sniper rifle, and the Rail Cover and LPVO attachments.
November 18: California Resistance
The second phase of Season 1 adds a new map, Eastwood, along with a limited-time mode called Sabotage. Also on the way is a new feature called Battle Pickups, along with the DB-12 shotgun and the M357 Trait sidearm. This update also adds the Troy Angled attachment.
December 9: Winter Offensive
The highlight of Winter offensive is the new limited-time event map, Ice Lock Empire State, which looks like a frozen version of Empire State. Also in this update is the Ice Lock limited-time event and the Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon.

All of this content is free as part of the live-service seasonal approach to post-release content for Battlefield 6.
The game launches on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In other news, EA just recently put out a new live-action trailer for the game that pokes fun at the franchise’s main rival, Call of Duty. Battlefield 6 has considerable pre-release hype and momentum, but experts do not believe it will beat Call of Duty this year, at least not in terms of sales.
