It’s a matter of days now before Battlefield 6 comes out, so EA is celebrating with not just a launch trailer, but a “launch hype trailer.” The new video for the FPS features all sorts of explosions, demolition, crashing helicopters, and even a soldier wielding a sledgehammer for a deadly attack.
Seen below, the Battlefield 6 launch trailer is all about showing off large-scale warfare. We see buildings getting blown up, aerial combat, and tanks rolling around. The action has a rendition of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” in the background, with the lyrics “give me something to break” shouted throughout. In addition, the video mixes press quotes with popular streamer reactions. TimTheTatman is the first figure highlighted, which is funny in a way considering he previously had his own Call of Duty operator bundle at one point.
Battlefield 6 will receive a beefy day-one patch that includes over 200 changes, such as balance improvements and bug fixes. In a blog post for the update, Battlefield Studios also hinted that naval warfare could come to the game in the future.
Earlier this week, the developer shared data about what Battlefield 6 players preferred between open and closed weapons playlists. Basically, the team stated that people appeared to like open weapons more because then they can pick up any gun they like regardless of their class. This goes against the traditional Battlefield setup, where players could only grab weapons specific to their class.
This week looks monumental for the FPS franchise, with one analyst believing Battlefield 6 could sell 5 million copies in its first week. Battlefield 6 will launch this Friday, October 10 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Zooming out, publisher EA recently sold itself for $55 billion to an “investor consortium” that includes Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Jared Kushner’s Affinity Partners.
