Avenged Sevenfold have been forced to postpone their Latin American tour at the last minute due to a vocal injury for frontman M. Shadows.
The metal band were due to kick off their string of dates in Buenos Aires on Thursday (September 25), but having called that show off, they confirmed on Friday that they would be unable to fulfil any of the dates.
In a social media post, they wrote: “With a heavy heart, and regretfully, we have to announce that due to a specific condition called a vocal fold hematoma, we have made the necessary decision to push our tour to early next year.”
“We promise to come back stronger than ever,” they added. “Your tickets will still be valid for the rescheduled shows – new dates are on the way and will be announced next week. Thank you for your understanding, love, and support.”
Shadows also addressed the camera in a video attached to the post, explaining: “I’ve got my voice in some sort of trouble. After Louder Than Life I got a little sick and I thought that my throat was feeling crummy from being sick. Came down to Argentina, felt like it was probably the travel, the schedule, etc. Monday and Tuesday came, I slept a bunch, didn’t feel any different so we postponed Buenos Aires. The next day, I got a bunch of sleep, woke up and I felt like something wasn’t getting better.”
He said a doctor told him he had a “hematoma on my left vocal fold”, which he said is “the same injury I had in 2017”.

Explaining that ignoring the injury eight years ago resulted in needing surgery, he felt he was not able to take that risk again, and confirmed that Avenged Sevenfold will reschedule the dates for January 2026.
At the start of this year, Shadows spoke about the difficulty in making money from touring for bands like Avenged Sevenfold. “It’s really crazy because when you get to our kind of level, everybody on the crew is ‘A list’ and they’re all being pulled in different directions, so they all make high-end amounts of money,” he said.
“More trucks, more drivers, more gasoline, more travel. And we’ve already seen a lot of bands canceling tours. You’re gonna see a lot more. ‘Cause I know where we’re at. I know what we make. And I know that it’s incredibly hard for us even.”
The band’s last album was 2023’s ‘Life Is But A Dream…’, their eighth studio effort, which included the singles ‘Nobody’ and ‘We Love You’.
