My Chemical Romance adverts have been spotted at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, making fans question if this is a teaser that the band will be playing at the venue.
This comes after the band announced two shows at Wembley last month, which are set to take place on July 10 and 11 next year. These tickets sold out quickly, and soon demand grew for more UK shows.
My Chemical Romance last performed in the UK as part of their reunion tour in 2022, with dates taking place in Milton Keynes, Cornwall, Dublin, Warrington, Cardiff and Glasgow.
Gerard Way and co are currently out on their 2025 North American ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ stadium tour, which kicked off earlier this summer after selling out within hours. Following this trek, they will visit South America and Asia next year.

Now, fans have noticed adverts for the band running at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium during a football match. This has many of them questioning if MCR will add an extra tour date in the northern city.

Reddit user Dusted_dream shared an image of the pitch on the platform, and in the comments said: “Im so excited i just had to share! Been watching the advertising boards more than the actual game haha.”
On Instagram, MCR guitarist Frank Iero posted a selfie of him wearing a Liverpool FC football shirt with the caption: “All eyez on the pitch tomorrow, Let’s go Reds!”
This has also prompted fans to ask if this is a cryptically coded teaser for a potential Liverpool gig, or just Frank showing his support for the Premier League football team.
“So that’s why frank said look at the pitch,” one user said on Reddit. Others, who seemingly support Liverpool FC and like MCR, were just happy to see their worlds colliding. “As a Liverpool fan this is a mad crossover,” one user said.
In other My Chemical Romance-related news, Gerard Way has recently been accused of morphing into a “demon”. One TikTok user shared a video claiming Way “morph[ed] into a demon mid-performance at his concert” at a show in New Jersey in August.
In the clip, the user says: “This is what he looked like. Yes, this is that same man complete[ly] morphing into a demon – a reptilian – if you will. This is what he morphed into and we see this a lot with these celebrities [and] these musicians on stage.”
The user then went on to critique rock music. They said: “So, if you are listening to this and you – you know, you should probably stay away from things like this because when people start to morph into demons, that means that they are being inspired by demons, if not an actual demon.”
Following the post, he was roundly mocked by some MCR fans in the comments section, while another declared: “MCR being accused of being demons. We are so fucking back.”
